Canada response to Trump Tariffs

(AMP) February 2, 2025
In response to the Trump tariffs, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced tariffs on American products and goods.

We will always stand up for Canada.
Canada will be responding to US trade actions with 25% tariffs against 155 Billion Dollars worth of American goods. This will include immediate tariffs on $30 Billion worth of goods as of Tuesday, followed by further tariffs on $125 Billion of American products in 21 days time to allow Canadian companies and supply chains to seek to find alternatives. Like the American tariffs, our response will also be far reaching and include every day items such as American beer, wine, and bourbon. Fruits and fruit juices, including orange juice, along with vegetables, perfume, clothing, and shoes. It will include major consumer products like household appliances, furniture, and sports equipment, and materials like lumber and plastics, along with much, much more.

And, as part of our response we are considering, with the provinces and territories, several non-tariff measures, including some related to critical materials, energy procurement and other partnerships.

We will stand strong for Canada. We will stand strong to ensure our countries continue to be the best neighbors in the world.

Bishop Heroic Plea for Mercy from Felonius

Editorial
The first week of Felonius, formerly known as Donald J. Trump, rule after inauguration was everything I expected it would be.

Like many of us, the editor of AMP News was hoping for some heroic interdiction to stop the forewarned Project 2025. I expected nothing good to happen whatsoever. No surprise.

The closest we came to seeing a momentary shining star was when Bishop Mariann Budde spoke truth to power asking the first convicted criminal felon to be inaugurated President of the United States of America for mercy for the many immigrants and transgender and LGBTQ+ people who are in fear of their lives in the wake of Project 2025 during the National Prayer Service at Washington National Cathedral on Jan. 21 in Washington, D.C.
After the sermon which had a theme of Unity by the heroic Episcopalian Bishop, the despicable Felonius wasted no time in disrespecting and insulting the sermon and the service in the National Cathedral.

Felonious Donald GUILTY on All Counts

(AMP) New York City, May 30, 2024
Former President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, was found guilty on all 34 counts. The case is frequently called the “Hush Money” case. His crimes defrauded American voters in 2016 by covering up a sexual affair with adult film actress, Stormy Daniels, by using a “catch and kill” scheme wherein the National Enquirer bought the rights to her story and had her sign a non-disclosure agreement, and then killed the story in order to keep the affair secret from the American public in the weeks prior to the 2016 election.

Trump is now a convicted felon and a candidate for POTUS this year.

American Freedom in Jeopardy

May 30 2024 Update: Many people are still not aware of the planned takeover of the entire Executive Branch by radical extremists in the event of a Republican being elected President in 2024. Kudos to those who are informed and oppose.

State senator Lisa Grafstein (D) at the Pints & Politics forum of candidates in Raleigh, NC on May 30, 2024. Here, she is fielding a question from the audience about Project 2025, followed by comments from other candidates on several other issues.

Now Playing at the House

House Republicans Relentless Attacks on LGBT Citizens in 2023. Produced by the CEC, February 2024.

House Republicans are obsessed. Not with lowering healthcare costs. Not with growing the middle class. Not with making life easier for working families. No, they’re obsessed with attacking the LGBTQI+ community, especially kids.

When Republicans took control of the House of Representatives last year, we saw an avalanche of attacks against the LGBTQI+ community. In one year, they forced more than 50 anti-LGBTQI+ votes on the House floor.

Letter from Fani Willis blasts Jim Jordan

(AMP) 9/7/2023

Today’s 9 page letter from Fulton County Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis in response to a letter from US House Rep Jim Jordan, Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, claims his “obvious purpose is to obstruct a Georgia criminal proceeding and to advance outrageous partisan misrepresentations. As I make clear below, there is no justification in the Constitution for Congress to interfere with a state criminal matter, as you attempt to do.”

Biden secures Social Security at SOTU.

President Joe Biden was able to get almost all attendees of the State of the Union address to Congress to rise and stand in support of Social Security and Medicare despite some radical extremist Republicans who refused to raise the debt limit in favor of holding the budget hostage, and defaulting on the debt, which analysts say would have plunged the economy of the United States and collapsed the global economy of the entire free world.
